4 shark species on 1 dive today

Well…………..today has been the most mind-blowing of days.  On our reef dive at Landers, we spotted a large yellow frogfish (painted angler fish) in one of the canyons.  One of our divers had last seen one 20 years ago (no jokes) so he was absolutely overjoyed to be able to photograph this at leisure.

On our shark dive, we had 4 species of sharks in 1 dive!!!!! Yes………………4 zambezi sharks (Bull sharks) hung around closer to the bottom and of these, 3 would repeatedly come closer throughout the dive.  1 tiger shark hung around at the bottom and made one appearance close the the drum and then moved away again.  5 dusky sharks spent the entire dive with us, along with at least 15 blacktips.  Our favourites “broken jaw” and “split fin” were there and it was great to see them again.  With visibility of at least 20m and a strong S – N current, this dive was rated amongst our clients as the best dive thus far this year!!!!

To top this all, we had a large pod of bottlenose dolphins just after launching and the songs of the humpback whales were heard constantly throughout both dives.  To add that 2 humpback whales made an appearance whilst we were briefing for the shark dive just sums up what an amazing day it was!!!!!!!
