Reef dive 9th October

Posted on Posted in Dive & Ocean Conditions

Despite 2 days of strong NE winds and then a strong SW wind, we had a brilliant dive this morning.  The launch was not the easiest but very superbly done by our skipper with his vast knowledge of the ocean!!  An incredibly light N – S current prevailed, with water temperature ranging between 19 & 20 degrees C.   Visibility was around 12m.

An amazing sighting this morning was that of 2 “poensies” aka black musselcracker, approximate weight around 12kg.  What an amazing and strange looking fish this is and apparently one of the nicest eating fish around.  So great to see these underwater on our dive.
